About Mrs. Hurst

I was an elementary school teacher for six years in both Alief ISD and Houston ISD. I taught second and third grade and absolutely loved teaching small group reading. Watching students grow in their abilites and love for reading was so rewarding.

Before I started teaching, I was an addictions counselor for six years in my home state of Maryland. I worked with adults in an inpatient rehabilitation center. Counseling is tough work that prepared me for getting to know students and build amazing relationships.

Currently, I am a stay at home mom of two girls under two (yes, it’s as tough as they say) and two cats. In the excessive free time I have (kidding!) I like to exercise, read, craft, and sometimes just veg out.
